There are some weddings that stick with us as lovely, happy exclamation points in the chapters of Milou + Olin. Whether it’s the joy and love the couple brings to the wedding, the personal touches that made it awe-inspiring, or just the complete package that meshes so well to create the ultimate bash, these events continually raise the bar on the wedding days we’ve witnessed as photographers.
One such wedding that will always be a favorite, is the effortlessly elegant wedding of Stephanie and John. Their venue, the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, was full of grandiose 1920’s architectural details, and their white, cream, and light purple color palate made us swoon. But the images that we loved the most were all about the bride! She was a completely effortless beauty in a Vera Wang dress, with a simple sweeping updo and sheer veil.
Her look defines the “less is more” philosophy; she has a small silk flower accenting her hairstyle, diamond studs, and her wedding ring. She has a light “ballet pink” manicure, and her makeup is clean and fresh.
Everything about this look lets Stephanie’s personality shine through each photograph, which is why we love it so much.
We aren’t saying every bride should forgo necklaces and flower crowns, but that each bride should take some time to think about what she wants to emote on the day of her wedding; what her bridal beauty look says about her. Stephanie looked so ethereal and elegant on her wedding day because she was comfortable and felt gorgeous in what she was wearing! And we think every bride should feel like their most beautiful self on their wedding day.
