We are so lucky to have such amazing clients from the day they begin their new life together as a married couple and into their journey to create a family. We had so much fun during our recent maternity portrait session with our gorgeous couple, Kari and Elan. You might recognize these guys from their incredible wedding featured on Style Me Pretty! We’re back with more photos of Nikki and JR as their Sacramento maternity photographer. We loved the golden light we were able to work with for this maternity session – it’s the perfect shoot to kick off the month of July! Since our last post we whisked Nikki and JR away for another wardrobe change to a more casual and outdoor outfit. Then we made our way to a little hidden creek nestled within Sacramento’s diverse landscape.
Sweet fatherhood. We just know JR is going to be the best daddy to this little baby. As a Sacramento maternity photographer, we can vouch for these guys and say that we think they’ll be awesome parents! Both JR and Nikki have such fun and bubbly personalities, we know that positivity will transfer over to their baby.
A dip in the creek to cool off during this summertime session. As a Sacramento maternity photographer, we love when the expectant mothers are a little adventurous during their pregnancy. Nikki had no problems jumping right in! It’s also very easy to capture some beautiful photographs when we have the amazing city of Sacramento to explore. There are so many parks, hidden gems like this creek and more amidst a bustling, urban city which is why we really love it here.
Nikki just might have the cutest baby bump we’ve seen yet! We love how we were able to capture JR and Nikki’s flirtatious and playful side during this shoot as their Sacramento maternity photographer. They were all smiles and very comfortable in front of the camera – they didn’t need anybody to tell them how to be cute!
A few tender moments before our last wardrobe change of the day – into their Dodgers gear! This little baby is going to be the smallest and cutest Dodgers fan ever. We can’t wait until we can photograph this little guy actually wearing his tiny Dodgers jersey.
We cannot express how much fun we had with Nikki and JR during their Sacramento maternity session, and we hope that we have the opportunity to capture their growing family once their baby is born!

The light was golden and warm, and Nikki looked perfect in her white maxi dress amidst this lush field. Being a mommy is a very special thing, which is why as a Sacramento portrait photographer we love to help document this very important journey for your family to cherish forever.
Nikki always has us laughing! Her smile and sense of humor is infectious and we couldn’t have had a better time as her Sacramento portrait photographer. A white flower in her hair accented her simple yet classic outfit perfectly.
We had a quick wardrobe change and had some fun as Nikki danced around in her brown boots and a summer maternity outfit. Nikki was a great sport as we captured photo after photo as her Sacramento portrait photographer. Nikki’s peach sweater was a perfect complement to the green California landscape that we used as a background for her Sacramento maternity portraits.
This is one beautiful mommy-to-be!
Nikki’s husband, JR, joined us after our solo portrait session with Nikki. These guys are so excited to welcome their bundle of joy into the world soon, and we can’t wait to document how this family grows in the future! Both Nikki and JR were so happy, upbeat and outgoing. We are truly blessed with the best clients!
